No. Every free tool works without signing up, and you can buy a Day Pass or credits without an account too. A free account doubles your daily free tasks and keeps your files.
One conversion or one tool run: converting a file, merging, splitting, compressing, protecting, unlocking, OCR, and so on. Opening and reading PDFs is free and unlimited.

Right after paying, pdftek offers to save your purchase to an account: just add a password. If you skipped that and changed devices or cleared your browser, use "Restore a purchase" on the sign-in page with the email you used at checkout.
Your first statement or invoice document each month (up to 10 pages) is free. After that they use AI credits, about 6 credits per page. Converting many files at once and combining them into one spreadsheet needs a Day Pass or Pro.
